CS in Formative

I am looking for ideas on how to use Formative in CS. Currently I use Formatives most often in Web Design and have students reverse engineer the code for a Website. This is easily doable for CS; students can watch a video of a program/robot/etc in action or look at a program and write the code for it. I am looking to go further with it though. Any ideas you could share would be great.

Here is an example of what I’ve done for one assignment: https://goformative.com/clone/UYAJYV

Again, I need to go further. Appsmashing is not an issue. I use Padlet and Flipgrid often with the students and bring in other tools as necessary for the activity.

@dplatt What if you use khan academy (e.g. Intro to HTML/CSS: Making webpages) as a study tool for your students and just collect the results of the projects generated there, in your formative?

I like it. I did this with a python assignment where they posted a screen cast of their code running and then the code itself.

I’ve used this as entrance and exit tickets for my class.
