Formatives for Kindergarten

Hello all. I am seeking any assistance or ideas to use Formative with small students like Kindergarten or even Pre-K. I would appreciate any ideas in any subject matter as I am supporting some of these teachers. We are a 1:1 district.

I could see where this could be done in kindergarten for sure. I am thinking back to my daughter’s kindergarten last year and I think you could have words or numbers displayed real big and then a show me below where they copy it and try to make a word that they know. There could be a lot you could do with this. The possibilities are endless. Think of skills you want to access or see.

I like that idea. I had teachers last year completed handwriting activities using Formative on the multitouch board. Folders with all lowercase letters can be found at: https://goformative.com/clone/MLXCLE

@Jordan_Cambron @Lisa_Scumpieru I am definitely trying this with my students! I also use Formative for student drawings. Check it out! I’d love to hear what you think.

Appsmash Flipgrid into Formative for collecting verbal responses as part of your assessments - see Virtual Learning Session: Appsmashing With Formative! for David’s info, and I’m sure there’s many users that also use Flipgrid with Formative .

I love that idea Kelly! I know that my Kindergartners would love creating and comparing video responses. Their interactions with one another are a big part of how they learn in my classroom!

With the new sorting question, I can see students sorting words or pictures based upon phonetic categories… long e vs short e, th- or sh- sounds, etc.
