How do students write on the assigned sheet. It seems like they cant type on it

Are you talking about the upload pdf/doc feature? If so, you need to add a question box for wherever you would like them to type.

I have not used this feature yet, but I cannot wait to!
This will be great for labeling parts of functions and graphs!
