Renewable resources vs. nonrenewable resources

Hey everyone! I recently taught a lesson introducing renewable and nonrenewable resources to my 5th grade students. Rather than just having them copy definitions of both words from the whiteboard, I decided to let them breakdown each word in groups in order to make educated guesses about the definitions of them.

As they worked in groups, I was able to see what each group was thinking from within Formative and I was able to address misconceptions as we came to an agreement of the definitions of the words. After that, I used Formative to let them sort different examples of renewable and nonrenewable resources.
