I want to share with you all a rubric that I created for my students. They REALLY have to be walked through how to do this, but it’s the best way I’ve found so far to have kids self-assess, and to give a grade for participation that parents can’t argue with. I always look at what the students give themselves, and I make modifications as necessary. If I run in to any significant differences in scoring (my opinion vs. theirs), then I chat with the student.

I’ve done self assessments in the past… I tell them that their grade is based on how close their score is to my score. :tongue: After hearing that, they usually grade themselves really well… maybe even harder than I would have graded them.
