Text analysis strategies?

Hello. Does anyone have students analyze the text with any specialized strategies? I have done a Formative with TPCASST, but I wondered if anyone else has used any other strategies or ways to walk the students through analysis. Thank you for any help.

Hey Lisa, have you ever heard of TWIST (Title, What it’s about?, Imagery, Style/Structure, Theme). It’s another acronym for poetry analysis. I’ve found it’s helpful for students to identify poetry elements once they become comfortable with them. I hadn’t heard of TPCASST, but it looks like a great strategy introduce when we first start poetry since what it asks students to thinking about seems a little more accessible.

I like TWIST and I have a colleague that would love this strategy. It will go into my Google Keep so I don’t forget it when I get to poetry. Thank you.
